It's not supposed to signify that a character has gotten stronger, it's there to represent Sonic Heroes.

Yes it is, they are getting stronger.

Solaris is completely unrelated to Metal Overlord though, and so is The End. Yes, Metal Overlord is really powerful, but Shadow fighting him isn't anything more than a callback to Heroes, and Solaris is far beyond Metal Overlord anyway.

It doesn't prove anything about The End, and it likely won't even be in the game.

It proofs that characters grow in power gina, that thing was said in forces, and that was no joke.

Also Metal overlord needed three super forms (or two super powered forms and a super form)with a team work attacked to damage metal overlord.

Yes, but Shadow is fighting him with Doom Powers, which are still mysterious but seem to be quite powerful.

I think it'd be better to at least wait until the game releases so we aren't missing context before coming to a conclusion like this.
