@Vernyou That's the problem. If you give up in an instant, it's like you never started in the first place. I was like that; I used to dislike writing in high school, didn't care to turn in papers on time, didn't put much effort into it, one of the last to submit assignments; you get the idea. It seemed like I was never going to like writing and going to give up. However, I took a class that was writing, but it was different; it made me examine my inner child. Who I am as a person. It was then I realized the only obstacle stopping me from writing was myself. Once I started putting in the effort and applying my skills, I realized I loved writing.
It's the same for drawing. Life can be time-consuming, but there isn't a time when anyone can make time to do what they love or something new. If they can't, then they need to relook at their priorities and relax a bit. Also, with the time it takes to get good at drawing, celebrate what you can do and improve on your mistakes later. Look at Kenzcoolz, she's having fun drawing Sonic and other characters and creating art to share. She's a great artist because she's doing what she loves. Over time, I know she'll get better because she keeps trying. AI takes that feeling away of self-improvement and self-discovery. It's interesting what AI can do, but if you're using it for that purpose to say you won't be good at art, you've given up. You said it yourself, you saw improvements in your drawings, shouldn't you be encouraging others who need that boost of confidence?
I'm not going to leave a verdict on the AI Art ban. As BurgerGuy said, it's here to stay, and it's not worth turning the site into a battleground. However, if you're an artist on this wiki, we should be encouraging users who have an interest in drawing to put their ideas on paper instead of relying on AI. The statement, "Not everyone has the talent to draw." isn't true. Everyone can draw. Yes, some people have fractured bones or have a disability that puts a hindrance into drawing. Despite that, they still find a way to express themselves on paper. Only the first step is the hardest, keep practicing and you'll learn something new about yourself and your skills.
