I don't see a reason why Sega bring the Zetis in the IDW Sonic comics

I mean, Sega thought these Mario villain rip-offs are awesome and asked IDW to include these characters in the middle of the Metal Virus arc for some reason.

Any reason why Sega bring the Zetis back?

I'm sure there are fans, but not many in comparison to other villains. I don't like them, but they're better than the Chaos Council.
