I thought it was covered somewhere in policy or guidelines but I can't find it. So I'll lay down the common etiquettes when it comes to spoilers which I hope will be practiced.
When it comes to discussing content on the latest major installment to the series, where ever it be latest games, comics or in this rare case movie, it is important to keep in mind that whatever that new game/comic/movie/thing ("subject") is would not be instantly available to everyone on it's date, it is important to keep in mind that just because you finished the latest game or saw the recent movie doesn't mean everyone else has either. So openly talking about crucial moments in the subject may "spoil" it for others.
So when discussing or making threads about latest subject or if you wish to refrain from spoilers please keep these points in mind when browsing SNN Discussions:
If you want to make a thread to openly discuss latest subject you are free to do so. However the thread title must clearly have the word [SPOILERS] in capital and the opening comment must not have any information, videos or imagery that will show up on the main discussion board. With free discussions of subject content on these threads it is other users choice whenever they want to view these threads or not.
◦ Comic issues and latest TV episodes usually get a designated thread started by an admin that is not [SPOILER] tagged. It's up to you whenever you want to view them or not.
When it comes to other threads that are without [SPOILER] on title, you shouldn't openly discuss information on subject if it would spoil it for others.
When latest "subject" has aged to the point that it's likely everyone has seen/read/played it then it's free to discuss. As for how long varies:
◦ Latest video games or movies get 2 months from their release date.
◦ Latest comic issue or episode of TV show gets 3 days.
Even if the subject has been around long after it's duration to have any of it's content to be regarded spoilers, if someone say they haven't caught up with an older game or cartoon and know little of what's going to happen then don't divulge any information without their consent on it.
These are just etiquette than SNN rules when it comes to spoilers so I can't really enforce them as rules or ban people over them. However if you disregard these etiquettes in intent to spoil the fun for others then as admin I will regard it as harassment and will give a ban for the duration 3 days to 2 months, depending on the subject.
