Whyyyyy we didn't even get something this month.
We didn't get anything in June 2019 either.
Mmm i wonder why exactly? Maybe they need less time on it perhaps?
I'm outta the loop here, what do you guys mean by another Archie situation?
@NinjaWolf1767 Because after the 290th Archie Sonic issue came out at the very end of 2016, the remaining solicited issues were delayed several times; the scheduled release dates came and went until they stopped being announced altogether, with Archie barely addressing fans' concerns about it. By the time the comics were officially cancelled on July 19th, 2017, fans had already seen it coming for a while.
For fans of the comics, IDW Sonic's schedule slips (if they last more than a couple of weeks, at least) tend to bring back unpleasant memories of the delays preceding Archie Sonic's cancellation. To make matters worse, in the wake of Sonic Boom and Sonic Forces, one can't help but view Sega as one of the most inept big-name gaming companies in the industry; neither competent nor trustworthy. That being said, I don't blame Sonic fans for worrying about Sega terminating the comics out of freaking nowhere.
As it stands, the 25th IDW Sonic issue is due out a good three weeks or so behind schedule. Although there have been longer delays before (the last Tangle & Whisper issue was delayed a month and a half from it's original release date!), it's still frustrating as hell, and going by what I said before, any worries about the comic's future are totally justified.
Are we overreacting? It's not like the IDW comics are being cancelled outright anytime soon. Maybe they need more time to make finishing touches, similar to how they delayed the Sonic movie.
Im just upset about delays. It looks like the Metal Virus saga will go on for a bit, and I often feel like one comic doesn't show much of the full story, meaning you need many comics to see the full thing. And with many comics, we get delays.
Yeah i know how you guys feel about delays. I felt the same way as most people are out there. delays is always tough when your a gamer and a Sonic fan.
@NexoByte It's annoying, but I'm a patient one, really. In fact, rushing the comics means following in Sega's incompetent footsteps.
As I explained to Ninja Wolf, when fans worry about the IDW comics' future, their concern stems largely from Sega's ineptitude and mishandling of the Sonic franchise for the better part of the last 15 years (barring the Rush duology, Unleashed, Colors, and Generations). Considering how freaking many times they've rushed a Sonic game, at this point they're lucky their haste hasn't been their downfall as it was Atari's in the 1980s. It'd be such a shame to see the comics fall victim to Sega's poor judgment in any way, especially considering how well-written they are compared to most recent games.

Hmm, I hope the IDW comics don't get canceled. I've only read up to Issue 8 so far as I buy them in the complete paperback sets.
What do you think?
