Myself said that this is not easy for him to do and it isn't easy for me either.
Ultra is one of the first people that talked to me on SNN. I was inexperienced but he showed me the way. I would not have come this far without him. That being said, I need to give him tough love on this matter just as he has also given me.
We have standards not to copy Retro anymore because it brings out the worst in us. Several users over there have called us out on it. I spoke to Neo over there and we reached an understanding. Simply put, he knew that we were not bad people but the plagiarism was not something that should have continued. Miderb left because of this do not forget.
So then when we all realized that Ultra was still plagiarizing, he was told to stop. Then when he didn't do that, we told him to stop again. Then Mulyadi informed us that he still did not stop. He eventually vented out his frustrations on Discord and I decided we needed a private chat. I'm not going to repeat the entire details of said chat as that would be disrespectful but the most alarming thing was that Ultra did not feel "special" anymore.
This baffled me. This is the same Ultra who probably has more edits than the admins of the other language sister wikis combined. This is the same Ultra several Fandom staff have approached to offer ideas and suggestions to help people out. Sure, they could have asked Myself or Supermorff, but they went to Ultra and that is because he is good at what he does. This wiki has over 80,000 visits a day and more often than not, the page that the viewer reads has probably been edited by Ultra. So for plagiarism to be fueled by "not feeling special" is something I just cannot get. Wiki editing is not a competition and it never will be.
Nearly all of these users right now on this Discussion have looked up to you one way or another. They have respected your authority. But when you keep breaking the very same rules that we set, you lose that respect. And not only will we lose respect from regulars but it will lead to losing more respect from Retro, other wikis, Fandom and eventually actual Sega officials themselves (because believe it or not, they read the wiki as well).
With that, I do believe that Ultra has to at least receive a ban. Actions have consequences and we cannot just pretend that it does not exist because of one's edits. I don't personally agree with removing his bureaucrat status though but that is just me.
