When the Village's power source, the Meroke Crystal, dies, the gang must get the replacement from a deadly trap built by the ancients.
Let us hope it will not take days for this episode to come online because the synopsis alone sounds brilliant.

Hey Ultra, I noticed you changed some stuff around in the Meroke Crystal article. Also you removed about the SatAM episode "Warp Sonic", I put that there 'cus I figured Blackout and Warp Sonic episodes have loads in common in plot
Well, the biggest give away for its relation to the Ancients was this synopsis Bill Freiberger gave:
Giving all the mentions about "Ancients", it seems to coincide very well
As for removing the SatAM stuff, it just sounded like a comparison based on personal preferences rather than an objective viewpoint.
Oh, yeah I overlooked that given the subtitled in the video used a lower-case A for the words "ancient".
But Warp Sonic and Blackout does have comparisons other than being Sonic cartoons.
A settlement facing power crisis and blackout, crystal source of power, Sonic replaces power source with a rock like mcguffin.
Well, I suppose there is no harm in letting it stay there.

I think the resemblence between the two episodes are worth to note. Not saying Natalys Raut-Sieuzac ripped off the episode or anything, though if anything I'd compliment her for actually watching the old cartoons if she did.

Better quality, still potato recording.
Y'know, it's kinda odd Dr. Eggman doesn't have his own power generator, given in No Robots Allowed it shows he is capable of harnessing power from alternate sources. Heck I figure his lair would be at least geothermal given the location. Eggman is also capable of transmitting power wirelessly, as seen in same episode and Sole Power.
But I guess if Dr. Eggman knew of the Meroke Crystal he'd be after it any given oppotunity... which would actually make Dr. Eggmans raids have logical purpose for a change.

Bill Freiberger has an explanation for this: https://twitter.com/BillFreiberger/status/838402835276443648
There is something I am wondering about guys, which I hope you can give your two cents about. Taking into consideration that Eggman could remotely super-charge his robots in "No Robots Allowed" and that he could not use his robots due to the blackout in "Blackout", does that imply that the power source of Eggman's robots are his lair, meaning that if the lair is out of power, his robots will be too?
Orbot mentioned that he and Cubot were still on full charge of battery so I'd say they are using some sort of internal battery that can only be charged with power. The fact that Eggman could not use his robots shows a sign of carelessness in not charging them beforehand.
A sonic toon episode with an intersting base plot what unverse am i in.
KissCartoon link Much better quality, but has a few wordmarks. Still better than previous video qualities.
And since the weekends are over, it's alright to openly talk about the episode now without spoilers.

I really have conflicted feelings for this version of Eggman. I prefer a version of Eggman who is all for terrorism. Such as threatening to blow up Station Square or aim a gun-blaster to Amy's head for his demands or drop a capsule of critters to be rid of Sonic. I hope in Sonic '17 and future Sonic games, Boom-version of Eggmans mannerisms don't rub off on canon just because he is more "kid friendly" for a modern audience. (In such games as Sonic Colours and Sonic Lost World, Eggman seemed more watered down for comedy sake than go as far as blowing up half the moon just because he can.)
As much as I am getting to like Season 2 of Sonic Boom, Bill Freiberger would rather keep Eggman a minor threat for laughs, with other more capable and challenging villains such as Nominatus, Shadow and soon Lyric, having just the few episodes.
If the Meroke Crystal was established in Season 1 and Dr. Eggman has always been aware about it, his character goal could be trying to steal the Meroke Crystal for himself, thus giving more purpose for his raids other than "for evil sake".

Since no other robot other than Orbot and Cubot were seen, I guess we can pressume so. He did say he needed power to run his robots. Especially since Eggman felt to be specific why Orbot and Cubot were still active.

Would actually be pretty impressed if Sticks was in M&S PyeongChang 2018 and have the very same outfit from this episode. I'd give props for attention to source.
Yes, Sticks go new Winter Outfit
