<p>Turns out Ken Penders called bull$#!7tery on <i>Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood</i> on a SEGA/EA lawsuit three years a go. That means Shade the Echidna and the Marauders cannot replace Julie-Su and the Dark Legion in the comics. </p><p>It sucks because it would of been very satisfying if Archie comics simply replaced Julie-su and Dark Legion with Shade and the Marauders... It would of been a nice middle-finger to Ken Penders for screwing them over. But it's more worse than that for both Archie comics and canon games. </p><p>Are you still waiting for the long awaited sequal to Sonic Chronicles as promised at the end of the game? Are you at least a fan of Shade the Echidna and hope she would appear in future games? Well too bad. Because of Ken Penders, It is extremely unlikely Sega will have her in either games nor comics. And because of Penders, Sonic Chronicles 2 is also unlikely because Ken cannot file again unless characters and concepts from Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood are used in the future. </p><p>Even Sega allows Archie comics to make use of their lesser characters like Tails Doll, Nack, Bark and Bean, Mighty and Ray and so on, characters we haven't seen in the games since the 90s and only cameod a bit in recent games. Shade the Echidna will not be allowed a return nor these privileges. If Sonic characters had a tier-system of frequancy in either games or comic, Ken Penders himself made sure Shade the Echidna, a character that was never his to begin with but somewhat simply in common with Julie-Su, stays at the bottom all because so he can make his barely legal and badly made non-Sonic fanfiction into a comic. </p>

Always looking for an excuse either for money or just to piss on Archie and it's fans. But I never really got why he sued them in the first place for a couple of characters that were actually an original idea created by SEGA and not by him! It is indeed a crazy, crazy world we live in! </p>

<p>He sued them because he though they were too much like his characters. Yes I see resemblences but honestly never thought it matters much due to Sonic Chronicles and Archie comics being seperate canons loosely based on one another. </p><p>But heres what I don't get, didn't he sign any legal contracts that grant Sega ownership of his characters? And didn't BioWare know they would be sharing the Sonic characters they made with Sega as well? </p><p>But it seems Ken Penders greed let it get the best of him as he believed his ideas should be his alone and wanted to break his contract with Archie and threw a wrench in there works. </p><p>It annoys me because it's all just about business. He never considered how the Archie-Sonic fandom would consider his actions. He wanted what was his (okay, I would support him for the right of his characters and wouldn't hassle him about it) but did so in a very selfish way. </p><p>Theres never a situation like this where someone is like "I want to take legal action to get my things back... I know I may be on bad standings with the people I want to sue but what about the people I cater for?" </p>

Dang I thought the Nocturnus Clan and Shade had a chance to be in the Archie comics.
