Arial? Aharoni? Really? We can do better than that, SNN.
I think it's now time the headers and buttons of the main page needs an upgrade, here's my concept.
Anything that needs to be changed?

I don't think they're showing right. At least on my MonoBook end.
Bigger and a little less dark but I really like what you used for them (concerning the character models)
I really like them. Like was mentioned, I think they work better in a dark blue and bigger (to fill up the space instead of the random blank space on both ends). Other than that, it looks great.
Looks great! Not fond of the gray though. I'd like to see this in other colors.
I have not looked at them yet, but from the other comments, some users apparently like them. I'll try to look at them myself, but I'm not sure I'll be able to tonight with how busy I'll be with other Wikis and playing my video games.
Either way, I will take a look myself.
Sorry, some advanced coding doesn't work on Monobook.
The question is, why do we still use Monobook? It's quite obvious that Wikia already stopped mainstream support of it and retaining it because of it's severe backlash it has when lanuching the Oasis layout in 2010, which is now being replaced by the Social Unverse layout prolly sometime next year. Wikia wants to put Monobook in the shelf, it's not compaitble with today's web standards. It's like using IE7 in a IE11 world.
We can't hold on Monobook forever. Sooner or later it'll get removed, especially on the heights of Wikia's latest rebranding as a 'Social Universe'.
Let Monobook go - it's not ready for the next generation web.
(apologies for the sudden off-topic)
