Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Ausgabe 256 ist die 256. Ausgabe der Sonic the Hedgehog Comics und der letzte Teil der Countdown to Chaos Saga.

Handlung

It's the dramatic conclusion to the epic 'Countdown to Chaos' saga! In Part Four, it's a race against time as the countdown reaches its thrilling end! Metal Sonic is out to kill Sally and the Death Egg II has launched-things are not going well for our true blue hero! Can he and Tails get to the Aquatic Ruins Zone in time to save the day? And what horrifying discovery awaits Dr. Eggman? You definitely won't want to miss this earth-shattering climax of the storyline that shook the Sonic comic books to the core! Featuring the final adjoining cover in the series from artist Ben Bates, and a special 'end of the world' variant cover from Tracy Yardley!

The Princess and the Hammer

Als Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit, Cheese, Bean the Dynamite Duck und Bark the Polar Bear wieder auf Mobius angereist sind, gelangt durch eine Bruchlandung ein kleines Flugschiff nach Mobotropolis, in dem sich Sally Acorn befindet.

Metal Sonic, der den Befehl von Dr. Eggman bekam, Sally Acorn zu vernichten, schreitete ein und es begann ein Kampf gegen ihn, während Bean und Bark unauffällig verschwanden. Erst als Sonic the Hedgehog zusammen mit Miles "Tails" Prower angeflogen kamen, konnten sie den mechanischen Igel besiegen.

Da sich Sally selbst an die Ereignisse vor der Genesiswelle erinnern kann, ist sie zunächst überrascht, dass Sonic sich über ihre wiederkehr freut.

Die fünf Mobianer reisen wieder zum Sky Patrol, welches Rotor the Walrus und NICOLE repariert und startklar gemacht hatten. Amy Rose und Sally Acorn bekommen beide ihre Erinnerungen wieder, während das Sky Patrol in die Luft sich erhebt.

Währenddessen merkt Dr. Eggman in seinem Death Egg, was genau auf diesem Planeten vorsich geht und erkennt zur gleichen Zeit wie NICOLE, dass der Planet auseinanderbricht und ein lila Licht aus den Fugen der Erdkruste erscheint.

Trivia

• Es entsteht ein Gesamtbild, was sich durch die Covers der Countdown to Chaos Saga bildet. 
• Da Dr. Eggman diese Supergenesiswelle alleine leitete und im Sonicuniversum sich alles somit veränderte, ist auch dies der Grund, dass sich in der Welt von Mega Man nur noch Mega Man daran erinnern kann und ansonsten kein weiterer Charakter.
• Die Pose von Sonic auf dem Variant Cover ist eine Ähnliche wie die von dem Logo von dem Spiel Sonic Unleashed.
