I'm not talking about the modern series as a whole, just the Adventure games, Battle, and 06.
Next people will be saying that G.U.N. could show up in games as early as Sonic 1. And I thought the topic of this thread was about the name of Sonic characters who aren't the small animals trapped inside robots.
Well of course G.U.N. could show up in those games. G.U.N. is a major government organization in Sonic's world. Just because you didn't see any humans in the earlier games doesn't mean they didn't exist in them.
Besides, many recurring characters such as Big, Shadow, Rouge, and Silver all made their debuts in the games you listed. If those games took place on a different planet, why would they be present in other modern games?
Kid Sonic wrote: I started this discussion and I can very well end it. As far as I'm concerned:
Sonic's friends are called mobians, humans don't live near Green Hill Zone,. The End.
If your own interpretation of it is all you're concerned with then why did you start this discussion to begin with?

The games can sometimes be inconsistent with the location of South Island; In Chronicles, Central City was located on South Island.
Either way, South Island isn't isolated from civilisation, that's something that'a pretty much consistent throughout it's appearances.
None of the classic Sonic stages are even on the same planet as Adventure's civilization, so why are we discussing this so heavily.
We're talking about the games, not Sonic X.
Actually, come to think of it, the Japanese instruction manual for Sonic 1 stated that South Island drifts around the ocean. http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(16-bit)_JP_manual
So, I guess that during Sonic Chronicles it just happened to be right next to Central City. How convenient for Sonic and pals.
TheScareCr0we wrote: They need to have an official name tho. Sonic's Worldians just sounds stupid, Mobians would technically only be cannon in the western Sonic adaptations, and South Islanders very much only works within the cannon of the fanfilm (as the games have established that central city and station square are located on south island, where as the fanfilm established that South Island is only inhabited by animals and anthropomorphic animals.)

Ya' sure about that? Green Hill Zone seems awfully far away from any sort of civilization.

Then I figured the cartoon is so unheard of that no 1 rly currs.
I don't think it was really ripping it off. Like all those shows I was talking about before, I think it just happened to be vaguely similar.
Though I'm not saying I think Scaredy Squirrel was a good show or anything. Honestly, I felt the plots were just...... boring. I felt bored watching that show when it used to air on Cartoon Network.
Oh, the short collection where he stole the idea for his totally original cartoon. Even the review has some beautiful illustration.
Stealing an idea from a Disney short, so very true. If you think that's bad, get a load of this.

He thinks that if one show is even the least bit similar to something else, that automatically means it's ripping it off.
3:11 - According to him, 'Coconut Fred' rips off 'Spongebob' because the cast of characters just happen to have a few similarities. Logic at its finest.
7:56 - 'Drawn Together' apparently rips off 'Shrek' because they parodied 'Beauty and the Beast' in a similar way. Then he somehow gets the idea that 'Shrek' is what they were supposed to be parodying. No one in that episode ever said anything about 'Shrek', I don't even think they ever referenced it in any episode.
11:18 - Just because 'Lunatics Unleashed' combines action with slapstick that automatically means that they're ripping off 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', because that totally isn't the logical conclusion of re-imagining characters with slapstick roots as action heroes.
17:20 - This Australian show called 'Pixel Pinkie' features a main character with a magical companion who grants wishes to help her in her dilemmas in life, therefore it rips its concept from 'Fairly Odd Parents'. (On a related note, I've heard some people accuse 'Fairly Odd Parents' of having ripped off 'Doraemon' before. It totally didn't, the concept was just similar. People have been writing fiction for ages, there simply aren't any 'new' ideas anymore.)
19:40 - 'Da Boom Crew' had characters fighting robotic bugs in a desert landscape as well as a scene when one of them goes through one in slow-motion, so it obviously ripped off 'Samurai Jack', because robotic bugs, desert landscapes, and slow-motion attacks aren't commonly used concepts. (You know that one episode of the original 'Teen Titans' when they first met Terra? How it began with Terra fighting a giant scorpion in a desert landscape?)
This guy uses the term "rip-off" awfully lightly, especially for someone trying to make a cartoon that's "inspired by" something he saw on Disney Channel.
I think this guy is an idiot, and I am NOT saying that to be mean. I honestly do think he's an idiot and I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he has a condition.

Hey, look at this. http://mrenter.deviantart.com/art/Episode-55-Shorty-McShorts-Shorts-466350550 A big baby indeed. Heh heh.
Mystic Monkey wrote: Never heard of MrEnter.
He's this guy on Youtube who reviews cartoons, by which I mean he bashes cartoons he doesn't like and gushes over cartoons he does like. He thinks he knows how animation 'works', that there are 'rules' to story-telling, and that he 'knows better' than actual writers.
The guy's a real d**k-hole.

Why on earth should a Sonic wiki (even to an extent of a chat room) have sex organs being mentioned? I don't care if Rouge has them, it doesn't matter. Any words relating to sex shouldn't be mentioned on here.
Boobs aren't sex organs. You know that, right?

Sesn wrote: I have another idea (yet I'm just brainstorming). How about allow links that have swears outside PM if the user warns the others before linking? If people are easily offended by swears, they'll know whether not to click on the link. I personally feel linking a something with a warning is no different from linking it on PM. Besides, I'm sure a few other Wikis allow that.
To avoid users abusing that privilege, we should put a few limits. Say, if strong swears like "f**k" are said way too much, the user is warned by a mod/admin. It pretty much works the same way with gory pictures. Too much blood isn't allowed, so same would go with too much swears.
Sesn is very sensible. We should all listen to him and remember his birthday.
Sesn wrote: "Ass" still seems a little too strong in my opinion. I'd say allow words like "kickass" and "badass", but not insulting words like "asshole" and "dumbass".
That's a greatass philosophy, Sesn. I completely agree.

Just the same as 'Damn' and 'Hell' being used in Shadow the Hedgehog.
This.
Hey, thanks for the support. On some level, I think the admins are just afraid of change.
Seriously guys, consider the fact that 'Ass' was used in Sonic '06. We're the Sonic News Network. If 'Ass' has been used in a Sonic game, it should naturally be welcome here. Just the same as 'Damn' and 'Hell' being used in Shadow the Hedgehog.
I find it absolutely ridiculous that 'Goddamn' is banned on the chat. Besides, it becomes completely pointless when one takes the time to consider that 'God' and 'Damn' are both allowed on their own.
It is also ludicrous that 'Ass' is banned. It really baffles me how some people honestly believe it's a vulgar term. It's just another word for 'butt', Nothing more, nothing less. It was even used in the lyrics to His World in Sonic '06. "Kickin' ass fast! Puttin' on a show!" If it's been used in a Sonic game, then it'd just be silly for it to not be allowed on the Sonic News Network.
As for 'Retarded', I think we could all learn a bit from Rick and Morty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOBoKxEcVAA
Huh, thought I got rid of that part before I posted. 'Freedom of speech' definitely doesn't fit with what I'm saying.
